THANK YOU!

I was in desperate need for a new vacuum, so my mom sent me one for Christmas! I got it yesterday and seriously can't stop vacuuming! It's the best vacuum I have EVER tried and I can pick it up with two fingers because it is so light weight! God bless my mom and ORECK!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

DINKY TREE!

Rowdy and I were too lazy this year to drag out big ole' tree up 4 flights of stairs from our storage unit, so we found this small dinky tree for $15. It was even pre-lit!
I still miss my big tree!
Happy Holidays!

Emily's Birthday

My friend Emily's birthday was on Fri, so we went to a nice dinner at Gargoyles, in Davis Square, followed by cocktails at Diva. Deb also flew into town from Dallas.

FOR KEELEE!!

That is MY Watermelon Martini and it was very tasty!

Note to Keelee: NO, my dear, I am not knocked up! I would call and tell you personally for goodness sakes! I just haven't felt very photogenic lately, but just for you I will post some pics! P.S. Do not go to Nashville without me again! :)

This was the weekend of Thanksgiving. Our friend Liam's cousins were in town from England, so we met them out for some cocktails.

ELF YOURSELF!

This is the funniest thing ever! Frankie and Tammi both did this, so I thought I would share mine! Everyone should do one and share! I seriously can't stop laughing!

RED SOX WIN!

Emily and I decided to brave the crowds and meet Deb at a bar next door to Fenway to watch the game. Rowdy was smart and stayed home. It was nuts!!! Emily and I decided to leave in the 7th inning to beat the crowds and were greeted outside by hundreds and I mean HUNDREDS of police with shields and big sticks. They actually said we were really smart to leave when we did. I was glad too! It was pretty neat experience, though. We made it home just in time to watch them win!

OK, tired of blogging! More later and I'll try and be better about this from now on!

RED SOX WEEKEND/Sat Night

Emily, Deb, Carrie, Kristen, ME and a quarter of Roshni(who knows) Deb came into town from Dallas, so we all went out for a girls night and also to watch the World Series game in Davis Square. We had a great dinner and cocktails. The bartender was actually one of the cast members from MTV Real World Key West and yes I did watch it! I can't remember his name, but he lives here. Rowdy and his friend Scott met us out later to watch the rest of the game. Red Sox won and then we went home!

Catching up

This picture was taken on my birthday, a month and a day ago! Lord knows I am not a birthday person, but I had a fun time anyway! A big group of us went out and I got tipsy. What more could you ask for. These were the only photos I mananged to take.

GO SOX!!!!!

Hopefully they can make a comeback and finish off Cleveland!!!
(Sorry Keelee and Lou!!)
I am also very happy that the "Rockies" made it to the World Series! We went to so many games in Denver when they sucked! They really deserve it!

HAPPY FALL!

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to everyone who sent gifts, cards, called, emailed, texted, My Spaced, you name it, for my birthday last week! Even though I'm not a big birthday fan, it still feels good to know you are cared for!!!!! MUCHOS GRACIAS!

I have some posts to catch up on, so I will try and get to them soon! I've been super busy and blogging is taking a big back seat!

Hope all is well!!! I really can't believe it's fall already!!!!

Florida

Lunch, on my last day, at the Boathouse!
Kutcher cleaning Donovan's toes! Yummy toe jam!
Kutcher, Jamie's dog! She's a cutie!
Abbie and Nolan braving the rain! Too cute!
Sam and I met Cheyna, her husband Andrew and their daughter Abbie for dinner. Sam also had them over for dinner another night. I was glad to meet them, after hearing so much about them! They were fun!
I had a wonderful trip to FL! Thank you again, Jamie and Samantha for hosting me! Can't wait to visit again when your men come home from deployment and we can all be together again!

Creepy Critters!

One afternoon, at Jamie's, her neighbor came over to tell us there was a snake in her yard. It turned out to be a poisonous Water Moccasin. He was a biggin'!!! I tried to get up close to take a picture, but was told that they WILL chase you! YIKES! Housing maintenance showed up to tend to the issue. We thought maybe they would capture it and take it away, but they killed it with a shovel instead. It was disturbing and left us a little sad, but I guess it had to be done! They have all kinds of interesting creatures around base housing, including an assortment of lizards, frogs, turtles, racoons, foxes, armadillas and even alligators!

Hangin out with my bud, Nolan
My other bud, Samantha
and my other bud, Jamie!

On this day, we went to the beach for lunch and play time. There was a sub-tropical storm headed our way, but all I can say is, thank goodness it wasn't a hurricane!!! We had some fun and then went back to Samantha's to anxiously wait for the storm and hang out. Good times!

More tomorrow......

Florida Trip Tease

I just got back last night from visiting Samantha and Jamie in Florida. I had a great time with my girls and their little one's! I stayed for 6 days....3 with Samantha and 3 with Jamie. I have more photos and will definitely post soon. I just decided to start with one while I was sitting at my computer.

I was taking out the trash and found a little furry friend in the tree, so I went back and got my camera. He was cute.

I've been bad about posting, I know, but I have more posts coming in the next couple of days.

Quick Update

I've been forgetting to take my camera with me lately, so my blog will be boring! Sorry!

Other than work, we've been spending time with our Boston friends, catching up on phone calls and of course, Rowdy's been watching football. I've officially lost control of the big screen until Superbowl!!

Rowdy also traveled to Florida for work and got to spend some time with James, Susan and my one of my best buds, Claudia, the previous week and weekend(no pics, of course)!

We had a relaxing Labor Day weekend, grilling out with friends. The weather was superb, but I'm not looking forward to the cold!!!!

Rowdy leaves again tomorrow for a work trip to Vegas. I was going to go, but planned another trip instead(more about that later). His mom and sister will be visiting him from Tucson though, so I know he's excited to see them.

That's all I have for now, but will make an effort to blog more regularly!

Bye Bye Junk Food!

I went to the DR. for my yearly physical and it turns out I have high cholesterol! It's jumped up 49 points from last year! I've NEVER had this problem and starting going down the list of guilty pleasures, that are in my diet, that must go IMMEDIATELY!!

Here is the " BAD" list:

Hot and Spicy Cheez-Its- Love em', but you have to go!

Hershey's Symphony bars- Rowdy's sister introduced them to me in Jan and I've been hooked ever since!!

Gyros: The Commissary has these delicious Gyro kits, but they are REALLY fatty, so BYE BYE!

Jenos frozen pizza - :( Sigh

Mifune Chinese Restaurant- opened up right across the street and is DELISH! UGH!

That's all I can stand to give up right now. Hopefully that'll do the trick!

Breast Cancer Walk

Amy, Kim and Susan

James and I went to pick up the ladies from the South Boston, after their walk was complete. We were also there for the closing ceremonies, which was incredibly moving. I don't know how many times I was brought to tears. We were very proud of the ladies for completing their over 60 mile walk! It was very difficult for them, especially Susan, to walk in the heat (Susan and James are expecting their first baby). It really took a lot of work and dedication on their parts! Boston, alone, raised $5 million!!!!

Boys Day Out

Rowdy and James were planning on going to the Red Sox game while we went sight seeing. They waited in line for hours, but of course when they got to the front, the only tickets available were in the hundreds(which I think is just crazy!!!), so they went to Boston Beer Works instead for a pitcher of ice cold blueberries with a splash of beer!

Visitors

Hmmm....too much blueberry beer perhaps?!

I think James and Susan are ready for some lobster!

Kim, Amy and Susan@ Harvard

Susan, Amy and Kim planned their 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk in Boston this year, so they could see us as well. James wasn't walking, but came along just to hang out. Kim(Susan's best friend) and Amy(Susan's sister) flew in from Denver and James and Susan from Orlando, all on Aug 1. The next day, we walked the city, saw some sights and then met up with the boys to have a lobster dinner.
I'd have to say, it was the hottest few days in Boston since we've lived here and the poor ladies had to walk in it!!!

Vermont

On our way back from Montreal, we stopped at the Ben & Jerry's Factory, in Vermont, for some ice cream.

Montreal, Quebec

Enjoying some local brew in old town after a long day of sightseeing!

I just LOVED Montreal! It was a such a fun city and VERY different from Toronto. French is their language, but most people spoke English as well, so it made it a little easier to get around. We stayed in the Old Town, close to the water, where they had a ton of art galleries, shops, restaurants, bars, you name it! I definitely want to go back before we leave New England.
