Final Resolution List-2006!

I've decided that 2006 will be the year for me to work on my inner, as well as, outer strength! I definitely need a good system cleansing!

1. Get back into shape. Work out atleast 3 days a week.
2. Remember to take my vitamins every day.
3. Eat healthier foods and force myself to drink milk.
4. Drink as little alcohol as possible.
5. Read more books and brush up on my Farsi.
6. Stress less and stop sweatin' the small stuff.
7. Stop dealing with other people's problems and worry about my own!
8. Stop obsessing over things I can't control and just go with the flow.
9. Be a nicer more accepting and forgiving person.

10. The most important resolution of all....Stop that nasty habit that I've been wanting to stop for what seems like an eternity, even if I don't do it all the time! I want my life back so I'm FILTERING you out of my life, once and for ALL!

Warning: I apologize in advance if this resolution affects resolutions 6,8, and 9 at the beginning. I am only human! Thanks for your understanding! :)

Damien's In Town!

Damien arrived, FINALLY, after missing his flight this morning. He decided last night, while packing a suitcase, to pack a 12 pack in his stomach as well. After receiving a few slurred calls in the night, I told him I'd see him in the afternoon. HAA HAA! I guess a 6:30am flight didn't agree with him, just as I suspected! (what are we gonna do with you D?) He arrived at Porter Square at 3pm. I gather the boys are tired! Too much football maybe!? I know I'm gonna get it for this, but sorry guys, I couldn't resist!

New Years Resolutions!

Alright! I have a list now of 19 resolutions! Some of them I know I can stick to, others that may take some work and then there are those ridiculous resolutions, such as no more drinking(yeah, right), that are never gonna happen! I will post my final list when I'm done contemplating on what I'm willing to give up or change! Wish me luck!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was nice and quiet! Kinda wish we were with his family, or mine, but that's okay! Thank you to our family's for the gifts and moola! Way too generous, especially our mothers, who deserve another thank you! We watched the Christmas Story(LOVE IT), Rowdy made mannicotti(YUMMY), and we just watched TV.

SPECIAL DELIVERY!!!!

I got a special delivery today, UPS, from Cheyenne and I was totally SPEECHLESS! It's a gorgeous framed and matted picture of the Train Depot and the Albany Bar in Cheyenne. The colors are perfect and I can't wait to hang it up.( as you can see, my cat was in AW of it too!) There wasn't any name or return address of who sent this to me, but I'm 99.9% sure I know who did!!! I will announce this person when I thank her verbally. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! We had so many great times on and around this street. It certainly is one of the most thoughtful gifts I've EVER received and I will cherish it ALWAYS!!!!!!

Went to Rowdy's Squadron Christmas Party yesterday. Since everyone is scattered all over Boston and New Hampshire, they only worked a half day to ensure a good showing. We had a ball. It's such a different world from missiles, I can't believe it's the same Air Force(Melissa is my witness). People are so laid back it's amazing. I've really enjoyed meeting the people I have so far. After the party we smoked some gars(cigars to the rest of the country) and had some beers with Lt. Col DeNofrio, followed by dinner at Chili's with Rowdy's buddy Ted.

Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe

For those of you that love to bake and/or eat cookies, Neiman Marcus has the most DELICIOUS Chocolate chip cookie. I actually purchased the cookies, but just realized they have the recipe posted on their website. Just thought I'd share for the holidays. I will try to attempt even though I suck at baking.

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions
1.Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream the butter with the sugars using an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy (approximately 30 seconds)


2.Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract for another 30 seconds.


3.In a mixing bowl, sift together the dry ingredients and beat into the butter mixture at low speed for about 15 seconds. Stir in the espresso coffee powder and chocolate chips.


4.Using a 1 ounce scoop or a 2 tablespoon measure, drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into a 2 inch circle. Bake for about 20 minutes or until nicely browned around the edges. Bake a little longer for a crispier cookie.

Melissa came to visit on the 14th and left today!

Wed- Went on Base, picked up some sushi and then had one too many pomegranate martinis, with Gretchen, at my place.

Thurs-Hung WAY over, so we watched Sex and the City all day.

Fri-Watched more Sex and the City, went out to eat at Christopher's in Porter Square, had beer at a little bar called Toad and then picked up Rowdy from the Subway station.

Sat- Went to the Lowell Lock Monsters Hockey Game with a bunch of people Rowdy works with. Then we went dancing. Met some really fun people except for the "stick up his ass" preppy from ST L.

Sun-Ice Skated on Frog Pond in Boston Common(and I didn't fall!!!) and then went to the original Cheers bar followed by a midnight snack at Pizzaria Uno in Porter Square.

We ate a lot, drank a lot and laughed a lot!!!! More photos to follow......

Snow Storm

Well we got dumped on today! We got a lot of wet, heavy snow and ice! The temperature isn't so bad though. I'm either really surprised or just starting to get really accustomed to cold weather!

I've been sick as a dog the last couple of days with some kind of bug. I feel much better now, but just weak, since all I've eaten are a couple jello fruit cups.

SO, I don't watch any entertainment news in 2 days and I hear today that MATT DAMON got married!!!! What's up with that! Oh well, I give it 5 yrs TOPS! Sorry Matt! But hey I guess I can handle it as long as Paul Walker doesn't get hitched!

Let it Snow....Maybe!

Our street does look really pretty with all the lights! I ALMOST wish it would hurry up and snow! Forcast says tomorrow, but we'll see! I'm trying to accept the cold, really I am!

Goin to Florida!!!

I get to do some thawing out this winter(for a few days anyway). Rowdy and I are going to Orlando to visit James and Susan in Jan. I can't wait!

Snow!

We got some snow today and if this is all we ever end up getting at once, I'll be happy! I'm sure that's not going to be the case, but I can only wish! The snow is really wet and heavy, unlike the Rockies, which won't be fun when we get dumped on! I don't mind the snow right now since it looks so pretty with the Christmas Lights set up in town and in our complex. I took these pictures right outside our door. I'll get some better one's when it snows again this week.

Last night I went out with an old friend from high school that I haven't seen in 8 or 9 years, Deb. She just moved from Boston to Dallas, but came into town for her friend Emily's b-day! We started the night at the Living Room, in the North End and ended up dancing our butts off at the Phoenix Landing in Cambridge. GOOD TIMES!

Sneaky Kitty!

For the last couple days, I've searched our place looking for my cat Stimpy. He would just disappear! I've looked in closets, clothes baskets, under the beds, you name it! Then as I became frantic, thinking I might have accidentally put him in the washer or out with the trash, he would reappear!? Well, I finally found him!!!
